How to change the name of a network connection in Windows 7
Windows 7 automatically names network connections like Connection 1 etc. I want to assign a name to the network connection myself, but there's no context menu or link in the network and share center.
How i fixed it: Click on the network type symbol next to the name of the network at "Active Networks" in the network and share center. A dialog box opens to allow entering a name for the network and to choose the symbol to be displayed.
